Recommendations for Future Policy in the USA
The published paper addresses five new policies to be implemented in the future:
a) The USA should revise and redefine the term “informal caregiver” as the current one is ambiguous
b) Formal and informal health care should coordinate with each other to make sure that the latter applies the good practices of the first
c) More scientific papers are required to shed light on topics like: how to promote the mental health of the caregiver?
d) Formal and informal care sectors should start implementing technology-based solutions that will facilitate their work
e) Society should be educated about the probability of becoming a caregiver and patient, as the majority of them think that the chances of becoming a patient are very low
