Alzheimer’s Care Training Program

Under the auspices of John Hopkins University a program is being implemented at the Metropolitan College of Greece, offering cutting-edge practices to caregivers who provide care services to people affected by Alzheimer’s disease. The program is oriented towards medical/ paramedical professionals and non-standard caregivers, such as family members, divided into two schemes: a) a 100-hour course for health professionals and b) a 40-hour course for non-standard caregivers. Both lead to certificate acquisition. Some of the modules of the curriculum are: definition and basic pathology of dementia, good practices in providing care support, technological tools, and common legal issues.
