My Fair Home – Migrant Rights Centre Ireland campaign

Migrant home care workers in Ireland formed The Domestic Workers Action Group (DWAG) in order to share their experiences of exploitation, low pay and isolation. They worked for over 10 years to challenge the Government and abusive employees, protesting and campaigning for more rights and recognition.

In 2016, MRCI met with migrant care workers in Ireland to discuss standards in home care and together they created My Fair Home, a campaign designed to provide a space for migrant home care workers to meet and organise.

The group consists of approximately 400 migrant carer workers who work together to support the network and educate members on their employment rights. They seek better conditions, better pay, regularisation for undocumented care workers, and an end to racism and discrimination.
